House employees win seniority over scheduling

After 20 years, an arbitrator rules in favour of some 200 Commons employees.

After 20 years of fighting on contract issues, an arbitrator ruled in favour of some 200 House of Commons employees represented by PSAC to give those with seniority more control over their scheduling.

"We won big," said Sérge Seguin, president of Local 70390, which represents House of Commons employees.

The union said their employees had no control over scheduling and there were unfair changes in shifts weekly...
