Clarify lobbying Cabinet fundraising rules, say lobbyists and political players

All parties have connections to lobbyists who get involved in political fundraising activities.

The rules on lobbyists who fundraise for Cabinet ministers need to be clarified so that a line can be drawn between legitimate lobbying activities and undue influence, say lobbyists and political observers.

"It's amazing, we're 142 years in as a country, and we're just establishing these lines now, which is a little late," said Democracy Watch coordinator Duff Conacher. "We have legislators and MPs who haven't really taken this seriously....
