Broadcasters boost lobbying efforts on both sides of fee-for-carriage issue

CRTC to begin hearings this fall on hot public policy, consumer issue.

Cable companies say conventional television stations are forcing a new tax on consumers when it comes to fee-for-carriage while broadcasters say it will be the end of local Canadian TV if they are not paid for their product, but both sides are ramping up their lobbying efforts to win the battle on the issue before heading into two CRTC hearings this fall.
